Make your mark in Internal Audit
Our Internal Audit team protects AIG through assurance work and partners with stakeholders to provide objective advice and insight. The team brings a systematic disciplined approach to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of AIGs control environment including risk management operational internal control and governance addition it proactively engages with stakeholders by tracking change initiatives and providing valuable advice and insights that help move progress forward.
How you will create an impact
As an Audit Manager you will support the team to deliver our audit plans for AIG UK and Talbot Underwriting Ltd alongside involvement in wider Group level internal audit activity and initiatives.
You will gain a unique view of AIG as you plan and execute on all aspects of the audit process building close working relationships with business and functional leaders colleagues across other assurance functions and fellow team members.
Key responsibilities of the role include:
- Leading on the planning of audits ensuring key risks and controls are properly identified test procedures support the audit objectives and business context is clearly understood to drive appropriate focus throughout the audit
- Leading on the execution of testing leveraging data analysis where possible and applying sufficient scrutiny and critical thinking to draw appropriate conclusions which are constructively discussed and agreed with management
- Drafting high quality audit reports which clearly communicate and contextualise the findings of the audit setting meaningful actions where needed together with value adding advice and insight
- Tracking open audit actions and verifying issues have been effectively remediated
- Working efficiently and effectively in line with budgeted timeframes providing guidance and direction for other team members to achieve the same
- Contributing to the overall effectiveness and value of the Internal Audit Group by proposing and helping develop innovative approaches and solutions (e.g. the use of data analytics automation and Agile audit methodology)
What youll need to succeed
- Prior internal audit experience within Financial Services or Insurance including a certified professional qualification (e.g. CIA CMIIA CPA) is preferred but candidates with relevant transferrable skills or alternative sector experience will be considered
- Strong stakeholder management skills
- An appreciation of the importance of balancing close stakeholder collaboration and engagement with maintaining audit objectivity and independence and an ability to operate accordingly
- Strong communication presentation and project management skills
- A desire and ability to lead and coach other team members constructively and effectively
- Flexibility and ability to function independently and multi-task in a dynamic changing environment
- Experience with leveraging the use of data analysis tools is a plus (e.g. MS Excel Power BI Access ACL IDEA Qlikview Tableau)
- A resourceful team player mindset with a can-do attitude
