Job Summary

TPF Recruitment are currently supporting a highly regarded firm of Chartered Accountants with offices across the South East who are looking to recruit an Audit Assistant or Audit Semi-Senior to join their growing team. The Role

As an Audit Assistant / Semi-Senior you will work closely with Managers and Seniors across a broad range of audit and accounts assignments for owner-managed businesses and corporate clients. Responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting with statutory audits for limited companies across a variety of sectors
  • Preparing statutory accounts and supporting working papers
  • Carrying out substantive testing and analytical review work
  • Supporting the completion of corporation tax computations
  • Liaising with clients to gather information and resolve queries professionally
  • Working closely with senior members of the team to deliver assignments efficiently and accurately
  • Building knowledge of accounting standards audit regulations and compliance requirements
  • Contributing positively to the wider team and supporting junior team members where appropriate

Requirements
  • Must have previous experience working in an external audit role within an accountancy practice environment
  • Exposure to audit assignments for UK limited companies
  • Studying ACA or ACCA or qualified by experience
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Organised detail-oriented and able to manage deadlines effectively
  • Experience using software such as Xero Sage QuickBooks or KashFlow
  • A proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and develop
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team

Required Skills:

ACA or ACCA qualification nearly qualified with practice experience. 2-3 years of auditing experience. Strong audit analysis and planning skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word and ideally CaseWare (accounts and audit). Previous experience supervising or mentoring junior team members. Up-to-date technical knowledge including recent accounting standards developments. Familiarity with IFRS ISA US GAAP & GAAS preferred but not required. Excellent communication skills both verbal and written with the ability to engage with diverse stakeholders. Organized and capable of managing multiple tasks effectively. Team player with strong problem-solving abilities. Ability to perform well under pressure.
