Job Summary

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a dedicated and organised Attendance Officer to join a supportive school in Sutton. The school is seeking a proactive individual who can help improve attendance punctuality and student engagement while working closely with students families and staff. This is a full-time position with an ASAP start.

About the Role

The successful Attendance Officer will play a key role in monitoring and improving student attendance across the school. You will analyse attendance data identify patterns of absence and work proactively with students and families to address barriers to regular attendance.

You will work closely with pastoral teams school leaders and external agencies where appropriate ensuring attendance concerns are followed up promptly and accurately. Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships will be essential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor daily attendance and punctuality

  • Follow up unexplained and persistent absences

  • Maintain accurate attendance records and documentation

  • Contact parents and carers regarding attendance concerns

  • Identify students requiring additional attendance support

  • Work closely with pastoral and safeguarding teams

  • Produce attendance reports and identify emerging patterns

  • Support attendance initiatives across the school
