Job Summary
RWK Goodman is seeking an ambitious and commercially minded Associate (3-6 PQE) to join our growing corporate team in Bristol.
This is an exciting opportunity to develop your career in one of the fastest growing firms in the UK alongside partners who are leaders in their fields with broad experience and backgrounds ranging from home grown talent to regional national US and Magic Circle firms. Our highly regarded team is recognised for advising on complex UK and international transactions for clients including corporates institutional investors founders and management teams. Youll gain exposure to a broad range of high-quality corporate work from day one.
The Team
RWK Goodman has a strong and established corporate presence across our key offices in Bristol London and Oxford enabling us to deliver seamless support to clients wherever they do business. Joining the Bristol team means becoming part of a wider network of almost 40 corporate specialists including a team of 13 in Bristol creating opportunities to collaborate with colleagues across our offices share expertise and work on a diverse range of transactions.
Our strength lies not only in the quality of our work but also in our collaborative and supportive approach with lawyers working closely together across disciplines and locations to achieve exceptional outcomes for clients. The team comprises lawyers who are not only technically excellent but focussed on supporting the development of colleagues to achieve their goals in an engaging and fun environment.
The Role
You will work on a varied mix of domestic and cross border corporate transactions including:
- Mergers and acquisitions
- Private equity
- Venture capital
- Group restructurings and reorganisations
- Corporate governance and general advisory
- Domestic and cross-border transactions
The team works across a variety of sectors with a material proportion of transactions being in two of the firms key sectors Tech and Health & Social Care.
About You
Were looking for an individual who is eager to build a successful corporate career and who enjoys working as part of a collaborative and high performing team.
Youll need to have:
- 3-6 years PQE gained within a regional or national corporate team
- Experience supporting on M&A private equity and venture capital transactions
- A strong interest in the Tech sector and be keen to get involved with our Tech sector group including marketing and business development activities
- Strong drafting and technical skills
- Commercial awareness and a pragmatic approach to problem-solving
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- A proactive attitude and a genuine interest in business development
