Catastrophic Injury Team

The Role

We are looking to recruit an Associate (25 PQE) to join our Catastrophic Injury team at Clyde & Co Manchester. This is a key role within a high-performing and nationally recognised practice acting for leading insurer clients on complex high-value personal injury claims.

You will manage a caseload of multi-track claims with a particular focus on catastrophic and large loss matters arising from Employers Liability (EL) and Public Liability (PL) including cases involving serious and life-changing injuries.

Key Responsibilities

• Managing a caseload of complex EL/PL claims including catastrophic and large loss matters
• Assisting partners and senior lawyers on high-value technically challenging cases
• Conducting detailed liability investigations and quantum assessments
• Instructing and liaising with counsel experts and other stakeholders
• Drafting pleadings witness statements and other legal documentation
• Supporting clients with strategic case management and early resolution strategies
• Maintaining strong client relationships and delivering a high standard of service
• Contributing to team knowledge sharing and wider business development initiatives

Skills & Experience Required

• Qualified Solicitor in England & Wales with 25 years PQE
• Proven experience handling Employers Liability and Public Liability claims
• Experience of multi-track litigation ideally including catastrophic or large loss matters
• Strong technical ability and a proactive approach to case management
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team
• Commercial awareness and a client-focused mindset
