About the role

This is an exciting existing role within our team. As an Assistant Technical Director (ATD) youll provide vital technical support to our pipeline and artists helping resolve daily production bottlenecks. Youll act as a central bridge between talent and technology ensuring our data flows smoothly and our systems run efficiently.

This role is perfect for a proactive problem solver who wants to dive deep into a world-class visual effects pipeline support incredible creative teams and learn from industry-leading innovators.

What youll do

• Collaborate closely with artists production teams and developers to troubleshoot technical pipeline issues on live projects.

• Monitor manage and optimise data storage and rendering queues to ensure efficient data tracking across departments.

• Maintain and develop custom in-house tools and scripts to streamline studio workflows.

• Take ownership of data ingestion asset preparation and final deliveries to maintain strict studio quality standards.

• Write clear internal documentation to help colleagues use custom software and follow production procedures.

Requirements

• Strong working knowledge of Python for scripting and automation.

• Comfortable navigating and working in a Linux or Unix command-line environment.

• An understanding of the core fundamentals of a 3D animation or VFX pipeline.

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with a helpful self-motivated approach to assisting others.

• Natural attention to detail and strong structural logic when parsing technical data points.

You might also have

• Experience using major DCC software packages like Maya Houdini Nuke or Unreal Engine.

• Familiarity with database management and production tracking software such as ShotGrid or ftrack.

• Basic knowledge of C PySide or PyQt web frameworks.
