Job Summary

Flexible working based out of Leatherhead South Mimms or Dartford with travel to projects or other offices as required. Requirement for site visits including night shift H&S audits as required).

  • Assist the Project Manager of PDA from Inception to Close Out located across the entire Network. Project types include but not limited to Pavement projects Safety improvement projects Structures refurbishment Geotechnical and Drainage works.
  • Assist the Project Managers on liaising with all Stakeholders for each project with particular focus on meeting requirement of National Highways (NH) and Connect Plus (CP) as primary Clients.
  • Project portfolio delivery to time cost quality and delivering the agreed outcomes with full supporting documentation to allow project close out.
  • Application of innovative and efficient design and construction methods to all projects
  • Support delivery of all projects in accordance with Zero Harm plan implemented by business.
  • Assist or manage with a number of projects at different stages of the project lifecycle with project manager support.
  • Within each project responsibility for
    • End to end management of the project to include scheme development and engagement through the life of the project with the asset team designers sub-consultants construction team and contractors.
    • Liaise with key internal and external stakeholders to include but not limited to Planner Construction Manager Project QS Asset and Designers.
    • Management of the P6 programme with the planning team including identification of critical path activities
    • Commercial management of the project to include but not limited to cost plan supply chain quotations review and approval of invoices forecasting review of applications with the commercial team.
    • Commission and manage internal and external resources in terms of quality budget and programme.
    • Lead on Gateways and collaborative cost reviews with the Client and project team. 
    • Adhere and apply the project governance procedure including leading in presentations both virtual and in person with preparation of the supporting documentation to pass through project gateways.
    • Routine reporting on project schedule / progress risk and commercial status of the project internally and to the Client
  • Engage in the Collaborative M25 Community including Balance Scorecards forums and workshops as required.

  • Support the delivery of the business Sustainability activities and business plan objectives.

 


    Qualifications :

    Qualifications/ skills:

    • Desirable Project Management Experience preferably supported by recognised PM qualification PRINCE2 APMP etc or working towards such qualification.
    • Broad skills knowledge and understanding of Highway or Structures Engineering and associated design areas.
    • Awareness of CDM and other H&S legislation

    Experience:

    • Experience of assisting managing project delivery to existing highway or structures assets in a live operational environment or transferrable experience from a comparable role
    • Recent experience of coordinating interfaces with other disciplines and design teams
    • Experience of assisting managing projects through complete lifecycle
