Are you ready to make a difference Join Boots as an Assistant Customs Manager ROI & NI in Nottingham where youll play a vital role in ensuring the efficient and compliant movement of goods across Ireland. Youll be part of our dedicated Supply team supporting the Customs Manager in managing customs operations and regulatory adherence.

What youll be doing
In this role you will:
- To support the Customs Manager in gathering and collating information to support an AEO application
- To ensure that all internal declaration audits are in place and completed on time
- To audit third party import and export declarations and attend monthly calls to provide feedback to third parties on errors
- Maintain accurate records of audit results and provide feedback to customs agents on errors and process changes
- Maintain relevant adjustment /voluntary disclosure logs
- To process and European BTIs / customs classification rulings
- Advise and guide the team on product classification
- Audit product classification via all channels and feedback to the individual in the event of an error or different interpretation of classification
- Ensure that all SOP documents for Assistant Customs Manager processes are reviewed and up to date
- Support the Customs Manager with providing freight agents any changes to process arising from legislative changes
- Support any post-clearance audit requests from HMRC or Revenue
- Create and distribute monthly duty report and update monthly figures
- Support the Customs Manager with other customs related tasks that arise
- Complete any Intrastat reporting needed for goods moving from Northern Ireland to Republic of Ireland
What youll need to have (our must-haves)
- Strong knowledge of customs compliance including import/export regulations and tariff classification.
- Experience in processing customs declarations and conducting audits.
- Excellent Excel skills and the ability to analyse customs data effectively.
- Strong stakeholder coordination skills working closely with freight providers and customs agents.
It would be great if you also have
- Familiarity with UK and EU tariffs.
- Experience in maintaining digital customs records.
