Placr Recruitment are excited to be partnering with a highly respected engineering and manufacturing business in Hailsham to recruit an Assembly & Finishing Operative to join their growing production team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on work takes pride in delivering exceptional quality and wants to play a key role in producing precision-engineered components used by customers around the world.

The Role

As an Assembly & Finishing Operative youll be involved in a variety of manufacturing and quality-focused tasks helping to ensure products leave the facility to the highest possible standard.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assembling and fitting precision-engineered components and complex assemblies
  • Finishing and preparing components to achieve high-quality defect-free surfaces
  • Carrying out leak testing using specialist mass spectrometry equipment
  • Performing inspections and quality checks on finished products
  • Bead blasting cleaning packaging and labelling components
  • Identifying and reporting faults defects or non-conformances
  • Following detailed work instructions engineering drawings and quality procedures
  • Maintaining a clean safe and organised work environment
About You

Were looking for someone who is practical reliable and takes genuine pride in their workmanship.

Youll ideally have:

  • Previous experience in assembly finishing fitting fabrication or manufacturing environments
  • Experience using handheld power tools
  • Excellent attention to detail and quality standards
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to follow processes accurately
  • A positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills
  • Good manual dexterity and a hands-on approach
  • GCSEs (or equivalent)

Experience within precision engineering vacuum technology or high-specification manufacturing environments would be advantageous but is not essential.
