Art Teacher Role in a Vibrant Coastal School

A highly regarded Secondary School in Brighton is seeking to appoint a creative and inspiring Art Teacher to join its successful Creative Arts department from September. About the Role

The successful candidate will teach Art across Key Stage 3 Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5 delivering engaging lessons that inspire students to experiment develop technical skills and express their creativity.

Students explore a wide range of artistic disciplines including drawing painting sculpture printmaking photography mixed media and digital art. You will prepare students for GCSE and A-Level Art examinations while encouraging independent thinking and the development of personal artistic styles.

You will also contribute to the wider life of the department through exhibitions art clubs competitions workshops and enrichment activities that showcase students work and celebrate creativity.


Key Responsibilities
  • Teach Art across KS3 KS4 and KS5

  • Deliver engaging practical and theory-based lessons

  • Prepare students for GCSE and A-Level Art examinations

  • Develop students creative technical and evaluative skills

  • Assess progress and provide high-quality feedback

  • Contribute to curriculum planning and departmental development

Candidate Requirements

Essential Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

  • Experience teaching Art at secondary level

  • Ability to teach KS3 and KS4 confidently

  • Strong subject knowledge across a range of artistic disciplines

  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills

Desirable

  • Experience teaching A-Level Art

  • Experience with photography digital art or printmaking

  • Experience organising exhibitions or creative enrichment activities

  • A proven track record of delivering excellent student outcomes
