An outstanding school in Derby is seeking to appoint a creative and passionate Art Teacher to join its successful Creative Arts department from September. This is a full-time role within a high-achieving and supportive school that values artistic expression creativity and exceptional teaching.

Art is a highly valued subject within the school with students encouraged to develop technical skills creativity and confidence through a broad and engaging curriculum spanning fine art mixed media drawing painting sculpture and digital techniques.

You will teach Art across Key Stage 3 Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5 delivering inspiring and engaging lessons that encourage creativity experimentation and independent artistic development.

Students will explore a wide range of artistic styles techniques and historical influences while developing observational drawing critical analysis and portfolio-building skills.

You will prepare students for GCSE and A-Level Art examinations supporting them in producing high-quality coursework and achieving excellent outcomes.

You will work collaboratively within a successful Creative Arts department committed to maintaining outstanding standards of teaching and learning.

• Teach Art across KS3 KS4 and KS5

• Deliver engaging practical and theory-based Art lessons

• Prepare students for GCSE and A-Level Art examinations

• Support portfolio development and exhibition opportunities

• Assess student work and provide detailed constructive feedback

• Maintain inspiring and well-organised studio environments

• Contribute to curriculum planning and departmental development

• Support extracurricular art clubs trips and enrichment activities

Essential Requirements

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

• Experience teaching Art at secondary level

• Ability to teach KS3 and KS4 confidently

• Strong subject knowledge in Fine Art and creative processes

• Strong classroom management and communication skills

Desirable

• Experience teaching A-Level Art

• Experience working in an outstanding or high-achieving school

• Ability to contribute to exhibitions or enrichment activities

• Strong portfolio and coursework guidance experience
