Art Teacher – Creative Teaching Opportunity at an Ely Secondary School

We are looking for a talented enthusiastic and imaginative Art Teacher to join a successful secondary school in Ely. This is an excellent opportunity for a creative practitioner who can inspire students to experiment develop their artistic identity and build confidence through creative education.

The successful candidate will teach Art across KS3 and KS4 delivering a varied and engaging curriculum that introduces students to a range of materials techniques artists and creative processes.

The school is keen to appoint a teacher who can combine strong subject knowledge with an ability to create an exciting classroom environment where students are encouraged to take creative risks and develop their own ideas.

The Art department provides students with opportunities to explore a wide variety of creative processes and develop practical skills across different media.

Students are encouraged to experiment with drawing painting photography 3D work mixed media and other creative approaches where appropriate. The successful teacher will have the freedom to develop engaging projects that challenge students while allowing them to express their individuality.

The school recognises the important contribution that creative subjects make to student development. Art provides students with opportunities to develop patience independence problem-solving skills and confidence alongside their technical abilities.

The successful candidate will become part of a collaborative department and will be encouraged to contribute ideas for curriculum development exhibitions and enrichment activities.

There may also be opportunities to support art clubs creative competitions exhibitions and wider school projects. The school is particularly keen to appoint someone who will contribute positively to the wider creative culture of the school.

• Art Teacher with the ability to teach KS3 and KS4.

• Strong subject knowledge across Art and related creative disciplines.

• A formal teaching qualification with QTS such as a PGCE.

• Ability to deliver engaging lessons across a range of artistic techniques and media.

• Strong classroom management and organisational skills.

• Ability to encourage creativity experimentation and independent thinking.

• Experience differentiating lessons for students with different abilities.

• Commitment to maintaining high standards of student work and presentation.

• Enthusiasm for extracurricular Art and wider creative activities.

• Legal ability to work within the UK.
