Job Summary

CORE PURPOSE

We require an inspiring highly creative Art Teacher to deliver outstanding art design and visual arts instruction across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. Operating within a progressive mainstream academy framework the successful candidate will facilitate a structured technique-led curriculum designed to foster deep artistic enquiry analytical sketchpad development and confident medium manipulation preparing all pupils thoroughly for terminal GCSE Fine Art or Art and Design public examinations and portfolio submissions.

  • Portfolio & GCSE Preparation: Guide Key Stage 4 cohorts masterfully through the demands of GCSE Art components focusing heavily on the rigorous annotation of sketchpads component selection and the execution of high-scoring final personal responses under timed conditions.

  • Studio & Resource Management: Oversee busy school art studios ensuring the safe orderly storage of student portfolios meticulous maintenance of specialist tools and materials and full compliance with classroom health and safety guidelines.

  • Community Pastoral Care: Fulfill full form tutor responsibilities within an established year group structure managing daily registration delivering pastoral curriculum units and maintaining proactive supportive communication with families.

PROFILE REQUIREMENTS
  • Qualifications: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or a recognised equivalent teaching credential paired with a strong honours degree in Fine Art Visual Arts Design or a closely related creative discipline.
