About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Arboricultural Surveyor to join our growing Southern team supporting a diverse portfolio of infrastructure utility and development projects across the South of England.

This is a predominantly field-based role ideal for someone who enjoys working outdoors identifying and assessing trees collecting accurate survey data and contributing to the successful delivery of high-profile projects.

You will work closely with our Arboricultural Consultants and wider environmental teams carrying out a range of tree surveys and inspections that provide essential information to support planning development and asset management.

What youll do

You will undertake a wide range of arboricultural surveying activities including:

  • Carrying out BS5837:2012 tree surveys to support development and planning projects

  • Completing Visual Tree Assessments (VTA) and general tree condition surveys

  • Recording accurate tree data using digital surveying equipment and specialist software

  • Identifying tree species defects physiological condition and management requirements

  • Collecting measurements including tree height stem diameter crown spread and site constraints

  • Supporting decay detection and further tree investigations where required

  • Assisting with tree protection monitoring and site inspections during construction phases

  • Liaising with consultants clients site teams and project stakeholders

  • Ensuring all survey work is completed safely accurately and to a high professional standard

No two days are the same and youll be involved in a variety of sites ranging from urban developments and infrastructure schemes to utilities and environmental projects.

What were looking for

  • Previous experience undertaking arboricultural surveys and inspections

  • Good working knowledge of BS5837:2012 surveys and tree assessment principles

  • A qualification in Arboriculture Forestry or a related discipline (Level 3 Level 4 or higher desirable)

  • LANTRA Professional Tree Inspection qualification (desirable)

  • Strong tree identification skills and understanding of common defects and disorders

  • Experience using digital survey systems and associated software

  • A good understanding of health and safety requirements when working on sites

  • CSCS and/or ROLO certification (desirable)

  • A full UK driving licence (clean)

  • A proactive attitude strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently
