talkSPORT is the worlds biggest sports radio station. From World Cups and European Championships to the Premier League and the Champions League through to Test cricket and world class boxing the talkSPORT network is at the heart of the worlds major sporting events.

Your role: We are seeking a passionate and talented Apprentice Podcast Producer to join our team at talkSPORT. This is a unique and exciting opportunity for an aspiring producer to develop their skills and gain valuable experience working on a leading sport platform while also acquiring an industry-recognised NCTJ qualification.

Being an apprentice at talkSPORT: During your time with us you will earn above the national living wage while receiving comprehensive hands-on training. Youll work 4 days a week with talkSPORT and spend 1 day studying toward a fully funded NCTJ Diploma in Journalism. Along with mentorship from top industry professionals we will provide any tailored support you need to reach your full potential.

Day to day you will:

• Stay up-to-date with the latest sporting events news and trends

• Help to curate talkSPORTs range of podcasts with relevant content ideas

• Edit high-quality audio and video content for a range of podcasts

• Edit full-length video episodes to tight deadlines as well as clips and social-first content for platforms such as YouTube Instagram and TikTok

• Develop creative formats and visual ideas to grow shows

• Write scripts for a range of podcast styles and presenting styles

• Collaborate with producers presenters and editorial teams to ensure alignment with editorial standards

• Learn how to apply color grading text overlays and lower-thirds to emphasise key narrative points.

• Help manage post-production workflows including graphics and subtitling

• Learn how to monitor performance and analytics to inform content strategy and optimisation

What we are looking for from you:

• You are passionate about sports journalism and creating great content

• The ability to turn new and imaginative ideas into reality and help us reach new and diverse audiences

• Self-motivated with good initiativesomeone who proactively spots opportunities brings fresh ideas to the table and drives tasks forward independently

• Someone who excites people through storytelling

• Strong communication skills - you can make the complex simple

• Creative and curious mind with the ability to think differently

• Good understanding of what makes a story engaging

• Problem-solving skills to creatively edit around technical glitches or recording imperfections.

• A collaborative team player who thrives alongside producers and presenters
