Job: ALS Manager

Location: Sixth Form College near Victoria station central London

Contract: Permanent full-time term time only Monday to Friday 8:45am to 4:45pm. Occasional travel to Manchester.

Annual Salary: 38000 - 42000 (actual salary for 39 weeks)

Aston Education is looking for an Additional Learning Support (ALS) Manager to join this Sixth Form College near Victoria station in Central London. Their Ofsted is Good with Outstanding features.

As an ALS Manager you will support and drive key operational and strategic functions helping shape the future of inclusion and support across the college for 16-19-year-olds and Apprenticeships.

The ALS Manager job

As an ALS Manager youll be leading on the continuous improvement of SEN/ALS provision embedding an inclusive culture and ensuring the college provides a high-quality education to their learners with additional needs.

You will be responsible for coordinating with external agencies parents and carers and managing consultations EHCPs and annual review paperwork.

Youll be leading the creation of learner passports to implement reasonable adjustments for students with High Needs/ALN and ensuring that exam access arrangements are organised.

Youll lead and inspire Learning Support Assistants (LSAs) and support apprentices through assessment guidance and workplace adaptations.

Qualifications & Experience required include:

  • Experience of working in a senior ALS position within a school/college
  • Degree level qualification in a relevant subject
  • Pastoral and SEND experience with KS4 post 16 or adult learners
  • Experience of leading the support of students with SEND for instance as a SENCO or an ALS Coordinator or ALS Senior
  • In-depth knowledge of SEND legislation and best practices
  • Excellent communication interpersonal and organisational skills
