The Opportunity

Aircraft Avionics Fitter at RAF Shawbury Shropshire. Reporting to the Base Maintenance Manager to support the MFTS operation.

• Assisting Certifying Engineers with the delivery of serviceable aircraft to meet the requirements of the daily flying programme.
• Ensuring compliance with Aviation regulations and Company procedures.
• Accomplishment of Maintenance activities as directed by Maintenance Supervisors.
• Complete maintenance to a high standard to ensure continued safe operation of the aircraft.
• Assisting with aircraft maintenance including avionics systems and electrical systems under the supervision of Certifying Engineers.
• Assist in day to day running of the Hangar including aircraft movement and general housekeeping responsibilities.

Knowledge and Skills

• Experience in an Aviation engineering environment
• Knowledge of UK CAA regulations
• Good knowledge of avionics and electrical systems
• Ability to work as part of a team
• Self-motivated and ability to work under own initiative
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• Flexible to the requirements of the company and needs of the customer
• Operational resilience and collaborative problem-solving

Fitter-to-LAE Pathway

Aircraft Avionics Technicians who are studying towards their UK CAA Part 66 B2 Licence who have completed at least 6 modules and have more than 3 years experience documented in their experience logbooks are also encouraged to apply.

Successful candidates will be enrolled onto the AHUK Fitter to LAE Development scheme.

Essential

• Level 3 Vocational Qualification in Aircraft Engineering or related Engineering Discipline

• This position is subject to National Security Vetting. Candidates must be able to obtain SC clearance which generally requires having lived in the UK for the last five years. All successful applicants will also undergo a mandatory BPSS check.
