AI Software Engineer

We are seeking an experienced AI Software Engineer to join a growing engineering and technology team in Gloucester. This is an exciting opportunity to work on innovative AI-driven solutions taking ideas from concept through to deployment while collaborating with multidisciplinary and international teams.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design develop and implement AI-based solutions to address complex business and engineering challenges
• Create prototypes proof-of-concepts and production-ready AI applications
• Develop and maintain Python-based software solutions following engineering best practices
• Support the deployment optimisation and continuous improvement of AI systems
• Collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver effective solutions
• Produce clear and comprehensive technical documentation throughout the development lifecycle
• Contribute to process improvement initiatives and promote knowledge sharing across teams
• Work closely with colleagues across global locations to support project delivery

Qualifications :

Required Skills:

• Minimum 3 years experience in AI machine learning or software engineering roles
• Proven experience designing prototyping and delivering AI solutions
• Strong Python development skills
• Solid software engineering fundamentals including code quality testing and version control
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Self-motivated proactive and able to work autonomously
• Adaptable and comfortable working in a dynamic environment
• Strong collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams
• Experience creating and maintaining technical documentation

Required Qualifications:

• A Bachelors or Masters degree in Engineering or equivalent military experience.

Desirable Skills:

• Experience deploying maintaining or supporting AI solutions in production environments
• Exposure to MLOps cloud platforms or AI deployment pipelines
• Experience working with international or globally distributed teams
• Knowledge of software deployment and operational support practices
