Role Purpose:

This role is to support the analysismodellingand test of aerodynamic structures in support of our Aviation Engineering Centre Wind Tunnel Crewed and Uncrewed Air Platforms and Science and Technology activity.

You will be part of a team who work on a diverse set of will work with the support of senior engineers and project manager to deliver your own tasks and work with broad stakeholder group.

As a graduate systems engineer you will develop your CFD modelling skills as well as build general technical knowledge of the structures technologies engineeringmethodsand platforms in will learn the engineering projectlife-cycle and how to contribute effectively to contract engineering activityegproposing packages of work estimating time managing risks presenting to peers supporting gatereviewsand delivering technical reports.

You will have a sound aeronautic baseline as well as aptitude and ambition to be an aerodynamics modelling and test subject matter expert.

Key Accountabilities:

  1. Support delivery of aerodynamic modelling and test activity across a range of projects.

  1. Support senior engineers in delivery of their work learning from pairing / deliver tasked work

  1. Configure and run CFD models using CATIA collating output into coherent and succinct reports

  1. Support continuous improvement and smooth running ofHigh PowerComputing capability across teams

  1. Support design and technology research activity relating to air domain / aerostructures / capabilities

  1. Support multi-disciplinary collaborative working including x-industrypartnerand academic communities

  1. Support safety security regulatory and non-functional requirements that apply to your project.

  1. Research and build knowledge of relevant technologies and system context

  1. Adopt and promote use of digital and collaboration tools on projects influencing broader community

Key Capabilities/Knowledge:

  1. Awareness of the Royal Aeronautical Society theiractivitiesand resources

  1. Awareness of QinetiQs role in supporting MODs aviation / air domain activities.

  1. Aptitude for modelling aerodynamic effects and curiosity to explore and solve problems across breadth of topics

  1. Ability to produce concise documentation collating information and with attention to detail.

  1. Logical analytical andevidence basedapproach with ability to listenself learnand ask questions.

  1. Ability to clearly communicate across a broad stakeholder group

Experience & Qualifications:

  1. CFD Modelling experience with demonstrable aptitude fromUniversitymodules / projects

  1. Evidence of using engineering processes in providing rigour structure and transparency of status

  1. Delivered coherent written technical reportsegthrough course work or dissertations

  1. Degree or equivalent experience aeronautics / aerodynamics
