Basic Function: | Responsible for representing Kent State University to prospective students their families and school/community contacts. This position assists in the development of on-campus off-campus and virtual programs and activities designed to meet the needs of prospective students families guidance counselors and campus partners. Reports to Associate Director of Admissions or designated administrator. |

Examples of Duties: | Duties/essential functions may include but not be limited to the following: Duties/essential functions may include but not be limited to the following: Assist in the development and implementation of on-campus off-campus and online recruitment programs and events for undergraduate and/or graduate students. Represent the University to various internal and external constituents (e.g. prospective students parents guidance counselors alumni faculty staff administrative personnel); disseminate information regarding the University. Provide admissions information sessions at the Kent State Tour Center to support guest check in and tour guide management. Perform work on various special projects and assignments including but not limited to admission publications customer relationship management (CRM) software communications reporting functions of application processing and admission file review. Travel for recruitment and related events as needed. Serve as the Counselor on duty on a rotating basis responsible for taking and following up on incoming calls from prospective students parents and college counselors. May supervise students and/or provide functional guidance of Admissions Counselors support staff or other employees who work on a project or assignment on a temporary or intermittent basis. Perform related duties as assigned. |

Minimum Qualifications: | Bachelors degree and two years related experience. License/Certification: Not applicable. Knowledge Of: Standard university recruiting and admissions practices Skill In: Verbal written and interpersonal communications; public speaking* Ability To: Work in a collaborative and effective manner with students alumni diverse families administrators and faculty |
Preferred Qualifications if applicable: | Experience in student recruitment education advocacy or college counseling Detail-oriented with strong oral and written communication skills Experience within an institution of higher education Knowledge of university-specific CRM systems; preferably Slate |

Working Schedule: | Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm evenings and weekends when needed |
