Job Summary

The Role

We are looking for an enthusiastic self-motivated and creative individual to join our supported accommodation service as the activities coordinator which is a new role being introduced at the service. The role is to create meaningful and recreational opportunities for the young men aged 18-25 years old living at our service in Manchester.

At Salvation Army Homes we are committed to a person centred advantaged thinking and trauma informed approach to support. Our co-production goals seek to ensure young peoples voices are recognised throughout all aspects of the organisation.

The activities coordinator reports to the service manager.

What youll be doing

  • Supporting young people engage in meaningful activities i.e. education training and employment.
  • Creating and delivering an activities calendar that reflects the needs expressions and interests of our young people.
  • Contributing towards our co-production commitment ensuring young peoples influence is recognised in all aspects of the organisation.
  • Networking with local partners/community groups to establish opportunities for young people.

What youll bring

  • A passion for serving young people ensuring their voices are heard and respected throughout all aspects of supported accommodation.
  • An understanding of youth homelessness and/or supported accommodation.
  • An ability to contribute to/work towards the goals of a service development plan.

Working Arrangements

  • The role is service based at The Limes Longsight Manchester.
  • The role requires some evening and weekend work as part of a rolling rota.
