Job Summary

TPF Recruitment are delighted to be supporting a well-established and forward-thinking firm of Chartered Accountants in Wokingham with their search for an Accounts Semi-Senior or Accounts Senior to join their growing team.

Whether youre an experienced Semi-Senior working towards your professional qualifications or an established Accounts Senior youll join a collaborative team where youll work closely with a varied portfolio of clients gain exposure to interesting assignments and receive ongoing support for your professional development.

The Role
As an Accounts Semi-Senior or Senior youll be responsible for supporting a diverse client base ranging from owner-managed businesses to growing SMEs. Depending on your level of experience youll take ownership of your own portfolio while working alongside Managers and Partners to deliver a high-quality service.
Key responsibilities include:
  • Preparing statutory accounts for a varied portfolio of clients.
  • Producing corporation tax returns VAT returns and where required personal tax returns.
  • Assisting clients with bookkeeping and cloud accounting software queries.
  • Building strong relationships with clients and becoming a trusted point of contact.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve processes and add value to clients businesses.
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues to ensure assignments are delivered accurately and within agreed deadlines.
  • Supporting and mentoring junior team members where appropriate.
  • Keeping technical knowledge up to date through ongoing training and professional development.

Requirements

The successful candidate will ideally have:

  • Current or recent experience working within a UK accountancy practice.
  • ACA or ACCA qualification or be actively studying towards either qualification (qualified by experience candidates will also be considered).
  • Experience preparing accounts for a range of business entities.
  • Good working knowledge of accounting software with cloud accounting experience beneficial.
  • Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • A proactive and personable approach with the confidence to build lasting client relationships.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Exposure to payroll or company secretarial work would be advantageous but is not essential.

Required Skills:

For this fantastic opportunity you may be an AAT studying and/or perhaps studying ACCA or looking to build further on your experience following qualifying AAT with a background in accountancy practice with at least 2 - 4 years or more experience within practice preparing accounts tax and other responsibilities for a mixed client base of sole traders partnerships and limited companies. You will be looking for a challenging long term career move at Accounts Semi Senior level within a genuinely growing and expanding firm of chartered accountants offering progression and career development.
