A well-established and growing accountancy practice is looking to strengthen its Elland team following continued growth and an increase in new client work.

Responsibilities of the Accountant job include:

Preparing full sets of year-end accounts for a varied portfolio of clients
Preparing corporation tax returns
Preparing personal tax returns
Managing your own workload and ensuring work is completed accurately and on time
Dealing directly with clients and responding to queries
Building and maintaining strong client relationships
Taking ownership of client work from start to finish
Supporting the wider team with general practice accountancy work
Taking on greater responsibility for a portfolio of clients as your experience develops

Requirements of the Accountant job include:

Previous experience working within a UK accountancy practice
Ideally AAT Level 4 qualified although relevant experience will also be considered
Experience preparing full sets of accounts independently
Good knowledge of corporation and personal tax
Strong general practice accountancy experience
Experience working with a varied SME client base
Confident communicating directly with clients
Able to work independently and take ownership of your workload
Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
A proactive approach and genuine desire to develop within practice

The firm is deliberately not overly rigid on title or qualification and would consider candidates from a strong Accounts Senior/Semi Senior background through to more experienced accountants with client management or portfolio responsibility.

For the right individual there is also scope to develop towards a Client Manager-level position over time.
