Identify and pursue market expansion opportunities including new geographies product lines and distribution channels.
Monitor market trends competitor activity (Biyinzika Ugachick Yo-Kuku and others) and customer needs to inform strategic decisions.
Lead business development efforts including key account partnerships institutional tenders and agro-dealer network expansion.
2. Operational Management
Oversee day-to-day operations across production logistics quality assurance and supply chain to ensure efficiency and output targets are met.
Ensure production facilities meet capacity quality and safety standards in compliance with regulatory requirements (UNBS MAAIF).
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce operational costs minimize waste and improve production yield.
Implement and monitor SOPs across all departments to ensure consistency and quality of output.
3. Financial Management & Accountability
Develop and manage the annual budget ensuring cost controls are in place and financial targets are met.
Review and approve financial reports cash flow statements and P&L accounts on a monthly basis.
Ensure healthy gross margins through pricing strategy procurement optimization and cost efficiency.
Report financial performance to the Board with clear variance analysis and forward projections.
4. Sales Marketing & Commercial Performance
Drive revenue growth through effective commercial strategy pricing product positioning and distribution.
Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers including large-scale poultry farmers agro-dealers and institutional buyers.
Oversee brand development and marketing campaigns to grow Nutrinovas market share in Ugandas feeds sector.
Set and monitor sales KPIs ensuring the sales team meets volume and revenue targets consistently.
5. People Leadership & Organizational Development
Lead develop and inspire a high-performing senior management team across all functions.
Foster a culture of accountability innovation and continuous improvement throughout the organization.
Work with the HR Manager to attract retain and develop top talent aligned to Nutrinovas growth ambitions.
Manage succession planning for critical roles and ensure leadership depth across the organization.
6. Regulatory Compliance & Stakeholder Management
Ensure full compliance with all relevant regulations Uganda National Bureau of Standards (UNBS) Ministry of Agriculture Animal Industry and Fisheries (MAAIF) NEMA and others.
Maintain strong relationships with regulators government bodies industry associations and key suppliers.
Represent Nutrinova at industry forums trade events and in the media where appropriate.
Provide regular strategic updates to the Board and respond to Board directives with clear action plans.
Requirements
Bachelors degree in Business Administration Agriculture Food Science Engineering or a related field. MBA or equivalent postgraduate qualification is strongly preferred.
Minimum 810 years of progressive management experience with at least 4 years in a senior leadership role (GM COO or equivalent).
Proven track record in the agri-business animal feeds FMCG or food manufacturing sector in Uganda or East Africa.
Demonstrated experience managing P&L responsibility and delivering business growth targets.
Strong knowledge of Ugandas agricultural regulatory landscape (UNBS MAAIF).
Experience managing cross-functional teams of 50 employees across production commercial and support functions.
