SMT Engineer (Power Modules)

About the Opportunity

Evantis Talent Solutions is recruiting an SMT Engineer for a leading semiconductor assembly and packaging company in Bangkok.

This is a hands-on production-floor role. You will run the SMT line day to day: programming machines executing lots to specification debugging issues as they happen and keeping the process stable. It suits an engineer who enjoys being close to the line and wants to grow into power module manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage front-line SMT operations and monitor lot execution to meet product specifications.
  • Programme and set up SMT machines including screen printers pick and place (chip shooter) and reflow ovens.
  • Programme run and debug Solder Paste Inspection (SPI) and Automated Optical Inspection (AOI) alongside manual inspection.
  • Troubleshoot process and machine issues on the line find root causes and put fixes in place.
  • Monitor process data and help keep yield quality and output on target.
  • Work with engineering quality and production teams on process controls and improvements.

Required Experience and Skills

  • 2 to 3 years or more of hands-on SMT process engineering experience.
  • Background in semiconductor assembly and packaging or in electronics manufacturing / PCBA. Both are welcome.
  • Basic to intermediate knowledge of the core SMT process: screen printing component placement reflow and SPI / AOI inspection.
  • Practical problem-solving skills and comfort working on the production floor for most of the day.
  • A quality mindset attention to detail and ownership of results.
  • Good communication in English.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with power module products.
  • Exposure to vacuum or formic acid reflow stencil design or reflow profile optimisation.
  • Familiarity with SPC DOE or FMEA.
  • Red glue dispensing or wave soldering.

What You Will Develop

Advanced SMT techniques and power module processes are taught on the job so this is a strong next step for an SMT engineer looking to deepen their expertise with a global semiconductor manufacturer.
