In Thailand we are looking for a Senior GIS Officer to oversee and manage overall spatial data infrastructure mapping activities and reporting for development projects. This role acts as a bridge between management and site operations ensuring the accuracy of GIS data preparing high-level analytical reports for executive decision-making and supervising Junior GIS staff
Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
1. Team Management
- Supervise mentor and monitor the daily performance and deliverables of The GIS Officers based in Amnat Charoen to ensure data accuracy and timeline compliance
- Assign tasks track progress and provide technical guidance to the site team regarding land surveys data gathering and site verification
- Verify the correctness and quality of all spatial data georeferenced maps and land status updates processed by the The GIS Officer before finalizing the weekly Master List database
2. GIS Analysis and Reporting:
- Consolidate field data to prepare high-level GIS reports thematic maps and spatial analyses translating complex data into actionable insights for Management and Project Developers
- Act as the central point of contact for the Development department to align and support map and data requirements for cross-functional teams (Construction Permitting and Development).
- Support business development activities by preparing technical pitches project proposals and conducting related research to support executive decision-making.
3. Central Geodatabase & Asset Management:
- Organize maintain and secure the companys central geodatabase ensuring all spatial data and land documents (both hard and soft copies) from site offices are properly synchronized and updated weekly
- Oversee data transformation and compliance standards for all geographical assets within the assigned service contract areas
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as reasonably requested by management from time to time
Required Skills and Competencies
Qualifications:
Qualifications/Education: Bachelors degree in GIS Remote Sensing Geography Geoinformatics or a related field
Experience: At least 5 years of experience in GIS operations preferably in renewable energy or large-scale land development projects
Skills:
- Advanced proficiency in ArcGIS Google Earth Global Mapper and managing enterprise geodatabases
- Possess a strong knowledge of land laws land rights property regulations and related legal frameworks
- Strong analytical reporting and communication skills to effectively present data to high-level management
- Proven experience in remote team management or supervising junior staff across different locations
- Ability to travel to site office (Amnat Charoen) occasionally for site walkthroughs or verification when necessary
Language: English/high/intermediate level spoken and written
