Forklift Operator

Job Responsibilities:

Shipping

• Prior to using equipment performs operations and safety check and signs off on daily equipment check list certifying everything is in good operating condition.
• Prepare orders for shipment in accordance with the pick ticket and customer requirements.
• Check inventory to verify availability of needed stock.
• Notify the Supervisor of shortages.
• Prepare labels for shipment in accordance with the work order and customer requirements.
• Package and ship in accordance with packaging guidelines and accepted methods/practices.
• Maintain/organize work area for safety and efficiency.
• Stock racks in the warehouse.
• Monitor packaging material supplies and notify the Supervisor when materials get to the restocking point.
• Organize pick tickets/BOLs and double check shipments before loading.
• Assists other employees when needed with loading lifting and searching for freight.
• Establish and maintain a positive working relationship with other employees and supervisors.
• Assists customers and drivers when they come to the dock to pick up freight.

Receiving

• Receive and unload incoming material and compare information on packing slips with purchase orders to verify accuracy of shipment.
• Sort count package label and put away inventory that is received.
• Inspect shipments for damages loss or defects and notify management of findings.
• Responsible for accurately receiving reporting and distributing purchased items.
• Stock racks in the warehouse.
• Operate pallet jack and/or forklift in loading and unloading material and equipment.
• Operate stretch-wrap machines.

Job Requirements:

Education:

• High School or above

Experience:

• Ability to read analyze and interpret general business documents written in English.
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers auditors and customers and others.
• Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as weights being loaded.
• Must have the ability to operate a forklift.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain appropriate forklift operators certification.
• Must be able to operate a non-motorized pallet jack.
• Must have good housekeeping skills
