Tara Performing Arts High School is a private Waldorf High School located in Boulder, Colorado. Tara’s mission is to awaken students' minds and hearts, foster their sense of connection to each other and the world, to engage them in meaningful work and activities, and to excite them about life itself. The school is dedicated to providing opportunities for emotional growth and renewal through deep involvement in the performing arts. In addition to supporting lively intellectual development through a demanding Waldorf academic curriculum, the school encourages students to engage in artistic process as a way to explore the challenges of becoming fully human in our complex and challenging age. Tara High School is seeking an innovative and energetic educator to teach Chemistry. The position is short-term. The chemistry teacher would be responsible for teaching the following three week blocks: Organic chemistry - 9th grade Acids/bases/salts - 10th grade Elements - 11th grade Compensation: $800/wk starting rate for block teachers, plus $150 for lab prep compensation per block. We feel that it is an educator’s responsibility to make the content of the class come alive in the classroom. The applicant must have an enthusiasm for the phenomenological approach to sciences in Waldorf education and a commitment to inspiring the students’ passion for learning through hands-on activities and creative process.
