Assistant General Manager Luxury Private Island Resort Zanzibar
Kendrick Recruitment is currently seeking a highly capable and experienced Assistant General Manager for a luxury private island resort in Zanzibar. This is an exceptional opportunity for a dynamic hospitality professional who thrives in a fast-paced high-end environment and is passionate about delivering world-class guest experiences.
The successful candidate will work closely with the General Manager in overseeing all aspects of resort operations guest experience staff development and strategic planning while ensuring the highest standards of luxury service are consistently delivered.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the General Manager with all operational and strategic responsibilities
- Support staff training development and performance management initiatives
- Oversee budget management (OPEX & CAPEX) and operational planning
- Manage uniform orders and bi-annual procurement processes
- Maintain and update operational task lists and product standards
- Oversee projects and supplier relationships where required
- Lead and manage social media and PR-related communication
- Support daily operations including guest interactions check-ins and allocations
- Oversee housekeeping butler services and kitchen coordination
- Assist with daily administration and weekly/monthly reporting
- Liaise with regional support teams and stakeholders
- Support conservation and community development initiatives
- Build and maintain relationships with government and partner organisations
- Participate in strategic and departmental meetings
- Support HR functions including performance management staff files contracts and disciplinary processes
- Assist with industrial relations matters and ensure compliance
- Submit monthly HR reports timeously
Requirements:
- Higher Diploma or Bachelors Degree in Hospitality Management
- 34 years experience in a similar senior hospitality role
- Strong computer literacy
- Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
- Solid understanding of hotel operations and luxury guest service standards
