Key Activities
- Demand signal generation & publication (Create and publish the consensus demand plan by creating segmentation statistical forecasts and updating it on exception basis (promotions etc.)
- Forecast performance management (Track and improve forecast accuracy and bias)
- Forecast error & volatility root-cause analysis (Perform forecast error drivers on commercial events bias seasonality lifecycle)
- Baseline forecast approach (the statistical method/parameters segmentation and how the regional baseline is generated and published for refinement)
- How the commercial input gets quantified and how assumptions are documented
- Which demand shifts/volatility drivers require S&OP attention (scenario needs impacts confidence level)
Escalation Triggers
- Demand shift creates a material supply gap needing cross-functional trade-offs
- Demand changes outside agreed thresholds or assumptions are disputed
- Commercial: Align market inputs and assumptions (promos tenders lifecycle) to publish the consensus demand plan and reduce ad-hoc forecast churn
- S&OP: Provide the monthly demand submission (assumptions scenarios) and support trade-off discussions; lock the demand plan at cutoffs for decisioning
- S&OE: Receive confirmed 03 month demand changes and feed back execution learnings (pull-ins/cancels) to improve forecast quality
- Supply planners: Share demand shifts and volatility drivers that change feasibility; validate lifecycle/ramp assumptions for constrained products
- Analytics: Align KPI definitions and standard views for forecast accuracy/bias and variance analysis; use dashboards as the single source for performance reviews
- Baseline history / demand signals (shipments/ orders/POS where applicable
- Promo & commercial event calendar market intelligence
- Product lifecycle signals (phase-in/phase-out) as available
- Consensus demand plan documented assumptions/drivers
- Forecast performance view (accuracy/bias/volatility drivers) actions
- Scenarios for S&OP (base/upside/downside; risks/opportunities)
- Statistical forecast accuracy
- Forecast value add vs statistical forecast
- Forecast bias
- Forecast stability (week by week change)
What you will bring to Alcon
- Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Business Operations Management Engineering or a related field.
- 3 years of experience in Supply Chain Planning Demand Planning or a related planning function.
- Experience in demand forecasting forecast management and inventory planning.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data identify trends and manage forecast volatility.
- Effective communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to collaborate across commercial supply chain and regional teams.
- Proficiency in planning systems and data analysis tools; experience with SAP or IBP is a plus.
- Experience in Medical Device Consumer Health FMCG or related industries is preferred.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced matrix environment and manage multiple priorities across APAC markets.
