Job Summary
Job Characteristics
Leads and manages SHE (Safety Health & Environment) programs compliance activities and performance outcomes for a business unit facility or geographic area. May also oversee Center of Excellence programs or specialized processes including personnel safety industrial hygiene environmental safety and regulatory compliance.
Partners with business leaders to identify SHE priorities and establish programs performance metrics communication strategies and change management initiatives. Implements corporate regional and divisional SHE policies while providing feedback on local compliance requirements communication effectiveness and business relevance. Develops location- or business-specific programs to address unique operational needs and ensures appropriate monitoring of operations and industrial exposures.
Provides technical leadership and expert guidance on health and safety standards established by regulatory authorities. Coordinates ECAP and other SHE audits working closely with leadership teams to ensure timely resolution of findings and corrective actions. Remains current on existing and emerging occupational health and safety regulations and ensures compliance across the supported areas. Responsible for local regulatory reporting where required and for ensuring the collection and analysis of both leading and lagging SHE performance metrics. Regularly reviews SHE trends performance and action plans with supported leadership teams.
Education / Work Experience
Bachelors degree in Occupational Safety Environmental Science Health or a related field with eight or more years of relevant professional experience. Demonstrated ability to lead develop and implement SHE programs and processes. Fluency in English and the local language is required.
Independence Level / Reporting Structure
Reports functionally to a senior SHE Manager or Director and may also have a reporting relationship to a geographic or business division leader. Operates with a high degree of independence and may directly manage team members. Accountable for SHE compliance project execution and overall SHE performance within the supported area including budget management responsibilities.
