Accounting Specialist (Taipei)

Job Description:

We are currently looking for an energetic highly driven and enthusiastic accountant with great attention to detail to join our TW finance team. The Accountant reports to accounting manager and will be based in New Taipei City Taiwan.

Essential Functions:

• Prepare monthly journal entries and account reconciliation.

• Coordinate timely month-end quarter-end and year-end financial close processes including accurate preparation of journal entries.

• Manage tax projects including preferential WHT rate applications tax refund VAT declaration 0% VAT application etc.

• Work with auditors and present back-up and findings for their review.

• Responsible for ensuring monthly AP close activities including related balance sheet reconciliations are completed timely with good analytics.

• Responsible for processing vendor invoices and employee expense reimbursements in a timely manner. Perform expense audits.

• Assist in the coordination development and/or production of various reports to meet regulatory requirements.

• Enters and maintains information on fixed assets inventory records assigns numbers issues tags and reconciles to general ledger fixed asset account information.

• Ensure process improvements and promotion of new tools and techniques to support accurate and timely management and decision making.

Qualifications:

• A Bachelors degree in Finance Accounting or related field or equivalent practical experience.

• 2 years of public accounting experience Big 4 preferred.

• Experience in the semiconductor industry is strongly preferred.

• Intermediate level experience with Excel.

• Experience in Accounts Payable (AP) is a plus.

• Experience with Taiwanese tax compliance and tax certificate report preparation.

• Knowledge of / experience with applicable tax accounting rules in relation to US GAAP / IFRS and related processes.

• Self-motivated and good interpersonal skills.

• Excellent relationship building negotiation time management communication and problem-solving skills required.

• Good communication skills in English.
