Lead Mechanical Systems Engineer 80 - 100 % (w/m/d)
You own the end-to-end technical responsibility for compressor system concept design within customer projects ensuring alignment with contractual safety and engineering global projects you act as the main technical authority towards the customer and oversee overall technical progress.
Beyond individual projects you provide system-level technical leadership across projects ensuring consistent system behavior aligned interfaces and resolution of escalated technical issues.
Your future daily work routine:
Leads the technical planning of several challenging global projects in parallel
Defines and develops the mechanical system concept and architecture including plant design P&IDs control philosophies and plant calculations
Plans coordinates and reviews mechanical engineering progress throughout all project phases
Represents the mechanical discipline and drives decision making during KOM HAZOP SIL and design reviews
Acts as the mechanical discipline representative toward clients for technical clarifications
Oversees mechanical system engineering activities across a portfolio of projects and ensures harmonized execution approaches aligned interfaces and consistent application of engineering methods
Identifies crossproject synergies drives reuse of proven solutions and leads initiatives to reduce engineering hours and accessory costs through standardization and modularization
Leads technical alignment with key suppliers for highrisk components; approves critical vendor documentation and oversees complex FATs including nonstandard test requirements
Supports Sales/Application Engineering during complex bid phases on an exception basis defining system strategy risk profile and design boundaries
Serves as a mentor for Competence Center shaping its roadmap and driving standardization modularization and innovation
Your Profile:
Degree (BSc/MSc) in Mechanical or Process Engineering or equivalent
Minimum 8 years of professional experience in systemlevel engineering within complex industrial/process environments including international project exposure
Strong knowledge of rotating and static equipment and their integration into complex mechanical systems
Advanced knowledge of the oil and gas industry (e.g. refinery petrochemical gas transport&storage H2 Mobility & Energy) or similar process applications
Proven capability to define and approve system-level mechanical concepts and ensure coherent integration across interdisciplinary functions
Demonstrated ability to implement standardization initiatives and continuous improvement across teams and projects
Advanced English skills (CEFR level C1 or higher) written and oral. Proficiency in German language is considered an advantage
