Job Summary

We are seeking an engaged and motivated Lab Manager to join a translational research environment focusing on cardiovascular metabolic and renal diseases. Our research combines experimental in vitro and in vivo models with clinical studies in humans with the aim of understanding disease mechanisms and identifying new therapeutic opportunities with a particular focus on reactive oxygen species and nitric oxide. As Lab Manager you will be a central part of our research activities and play an important role in ensuring a well-functioning safe and dynamic laboratory environment. The position is a part-time position at 80% full-time equivalent (FTE) initially subject to a six-month probationary period.

Your mission

As Lab Manager you will be responsible for the day-to-day operation and development of the laboratory. You will plan coordinate and participate in laboratory work; ensure that equipment materials chemicals and methods are available and function appropriately; and ensure that established procedures and safety regulations are followed. You will also contribute to and support experimental work within the groups research projects and serve as an important point of contact for researchers collaborators and suppliers. The role involves a high degree of individual responsibility and close collaboration with the research team to create an efficient well-organized and stimulating research environment.

Your profile

We are looking for someone with a relevant academic degree and solid knowledge of physiology and pharmacology as well as practical experience working in a preclinical experimental research environment. You are structured detail-oriented and solution-oriented with the ability to plan prioritize and take responsibility for your work. You enjoy working independently as well as as part of a team and value close collaboration in a multidisciplinary research environment.

Extensive experience in designing and conducting animal experiments particularly using cardiovascular metabolic and renal disease models is highly desirable. Excellent proficiency in English both written and spoken is required while knowledge of Swedish is an advantage. Previous experience in teaching or supervising students particularly in cardiovascular metabolic and renal physiology and regulation is also considered an advantage.
