Game Programming Student Worker Creative Prototyping

Sony in Lund is looking for creative and curious student programmers to join our Advanced Content Creation this role youll work hands-on with rapid prototyping exploring interaction gameplay and visual effects and bring ideas to life in immersive environments such as LED walls projection spaces and XR experiences.
What youll do
As a student worker you will be part of a highly creative and experimental environment where ideas quickly turn into working prototypes.
Your work will include:
Prototyping interactive concepts in Unreal Engine and/or Unity
Exploring gameplay mechanics and interaction design for immersive experiences
Creating visual proof-of-concepts including VFX shaders lightning and animation
Collaborating closely with 3D artists designers and engineers
Iterating quickly on ideas through experimentation and testing
Setting up and testing prototypes in real environments (e.g. LED walls projections XR
setups)
You will have a high degree of creative freedom and be encouraged to explore your own ideas and approaches to problem-solving.
Your profile
You are a curious and creative student who enjoys building interactive and visually engaging experiences.
You likely have:
Experience with Unreal Engine and/or Unity
Programming skills in C and/or C#
Experience with Blueprints or visual scripting
A strong interest in visual effects real-time graphics or interactive design
The ability to work independently on smaller tasks and prototypes
Bonus if you have experience with:
Shaders or real-time rendering techniques
VFX workflows or visual polish in game engines
Working with hardware sensors or physical installations
About the role
This role also includes hands-on work with physical setups such as configuring hardware calibrating sensors and testing experiences in real-world environments.
The position is flexible and designed to fit alongside your studies. It can extend across summer/winter breaks and continue part-time during the semester depending on your availability.

You will be working in a close-knit multi-disciplinary team of artists programmers and engineers creating immersive interactive experiences using the latest sensor and display technologies.
Our team develops both virtual and physical experiences for a wide range of environments including large-scale LED and projection spaces as well as VR AR and MR.
Our work is often showcased in public installa3ons and used to promote some of Sonys most well-known IPs.
