Why this role exists

Our data holds answers to questions we havent thought to ask yet. The Data Science Intern sits in the Growth team and treats the business as a set of problems to solve with advanced analytics: forming hypotheses testing them rigorously and surfacing the patterns nobody knew to look for.

This is a real discovery seat not a shadowing internship. Your findings will shape decisions across the business from week one.

What youll do

Explore and discover

• Dig into raw data to find the unknown unknowns. Patterns segments anomalies and behaviours nobody has spotted yet.

• Bring your own questions: propose analyses the team hasnt asked for and make the case for what they reveal.

Test hypotheses

• Turn hunches from around the business into testable hypotheses and design the right analysis to prove or kill them.

• Apply proper statistical rigour (experiment design significance testing cohort and regression analysis) and be honest about what the data does and doesnt say.

Solve problems with advanced analytics

• Go beyond descriptive reporting: build segmentation forecasting and predictive models where they beat intuition.

• Work with graph data to model relationships and networks finding connections that flat tables hide.

• Tell the story behind the numbers to non-technical stakeholders and flag data quality issues that get in the way of the truth.

What were looking for

• A Bachelors degree (completed or final year) in Statistics or Data Science.

• Curiosity above all. You ask why until the data answers and youd rather explore than wait for instructions.

• Python and comfort querying data. We work with graph databases experience with graphs (Cypher Neo4j or similar) is a plus willingness to learn them is a must.

• A solid grasp of statistics (distributions hypothesis testing regression) and the judgement to know which method fits the problem.

• Clear communication you can explain findings simply.

• Organised reliable and detail-oriented. You finish what you start.

• Bonus points for: experience with ML libraries experiment design or A/B testing a BI tool (Looker Studio Power BI Tableau) or a portfolio of data projects.
