Systems Development Manager, EUSC Managed Operations

European Sovereign Cloud (ESC) provides foundational services such as Amazons Simple Storage Service (S3) and Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2) to consistently released new product innovations that continue to set AWSs services and features apart in the industry. As a member of the organization youll support the development and management of Compute Database Storage Internet of Things (Iot) Platform and Productivity Apps services in AWS. Within Managed Operations engineers engage with AWS customers who require specialized security solutions for their cloud services.
Eligibility requirement
* Fluency in written and spoken English is required.
* Candidate must be a national of an EU member state and residing in the EU to operate the AWS European Sovereign Cloud.
* Amazon will provide relocation support for successful applicants relocating within the European Union.
* Employees will participate in an On-Call rota.
Key job responsibilities
* Lead your team in executing organizational and team roadmaps focusing on automation goals.
* Regular check-ins and strategic guidance to foster collaboration and shared success.
* Analyse systems and software performance identifying areas for improvement and shape strategies to enhance overall efficiency.
* Cross-departmental collaboration is key you will strengthen relationships with other teams streamlining processes for optimal team functioning.
* Building coaching and mentoring teams to ensure a skilled and invested workforce.
* Regularly review key performance metrics to ensure the teams efforts align with overarching business objectives fostering a results-driven environment.
* Identifying successes and areas for improvement ensuring your teams are well-prepared for launch challenges and opportunities.
* This position may involve On-call responsibility you will be required to drive escalation calls.

- Experience in systems engineering and operations leadership for an Internet service or leading-edge IT organization
- Experience in managing system or software development teams
- Experience in agile software development methodology
- Experience (hands-on) in systems engineering and administrative work in networking storage systems and operating systems
- This role requires you to be a national of an EU member state
- Knowledge of professional software engineering & best practices for full software development life cycle including coding standards software architectures code reviews source control management continuous deployments testing and operational excellence
- Knowledge of systems engineering fundamentals (networking storage operating systems)
- Experience with Agile engineering practices (Kanban continuous delivery etc.)
- Experience with AWS platforms services and design patterns
