What youll do

At Frekuent were not just building payment solutions were creating seamless experiences that move businesses and customers forward. As a Senior QA Engineer Devices youll own and drive the quality of our unattended POS device as a whole: firmware the Android POS app and the device releases we ship to the field.

This role is hands-on and high ownership. Youll define quality strategy build automation and tooling improve processes and CI/CD and help the team ship faster without sacrificing reliability.

What youll be doing:

• Define and drive the device quality strategy: test approach coverage goals release criteria and clear go/no-go gates
• Build and maintain automated test suites across the device stack (software components update packages and critical user flows) with a strong focus on integration and regression
• Improve CI/CD and release tooling: pipelines test execution/reporting reproducible releases and streamlined validation processes
• Partner closely with engineering teams to improve testability instrumentation and diagnostics including evolving test frameworks/SDKs and internal tools
• Define acceptance criteria and validate hardware/OS drops and device readiness across the lifecycle (including EVT/DVT/PVT/MP) ensuring stable behavior before field deployments
• Feed production learnings back into quality: participate in incident/L3 loops run targeted exploratory/manual validation when needed and convert recurring checks into automation

Who were looking for

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science Telecommunications Engineering Electrical/Electronics Engineering or a related field (or equivalent practical experience)
• Proven experience as a Senior QA / Test Engineer in devices embedded systems or hardware-adjacent products
• Strong track record building test strategy and automation in fast-moving environments including improving processes and release discipline
• Comfortable writing code for tests and tooling (e.g. C and/or Python) and collaborating with developers to strengthen test infrastructure improving what exists and building missing pieces where needed
• Strong debugging mindset: able to isolate failures across firmware/app/device boundaries and communicate clearly whats broken why and what to do next
• Fluent in English and Spanish with excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Strong execution and problem-solving skills youre not afraid to tackle challenges head-on.
• Takes accountability and consistently owns the outcome throughout the process.
• Embraces feedback as an opportunity for growth.
• Naturally proactive always looking for ways to move projects forward.
• Comfortable speaking up and proposing bold creative ideas that add value.

While its not required its an added plus if you also have:

• Experience testing Android-based devices (AOSP/embedded Linux exposure is a plus) and working with release constraints typical of embedded products
• Familiarity with hardware validation workflows and lab tools (basic instrumentation fixtures/jigs EVTs/DVTs/PVTs acceptance criteria with vendors)
• Experience with CI/CD systems and advanced test setups (hardware-in-the-loop on-target automation reliability/soak testing)
