We are seeking a reliable and technically skilled On-Call IT Support Technician to provide installation maintenance and troubleshooting services for a variety of IT and telecommunications systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting clients on an as-needed basis ensuring that hardware network surveillance and communication systems are installed and operating efficiently.
This role is ideal for a hands-on technician with experience in networking CCTV systems telephone systems and general IT support.
Key Responsibilities
IT Support & Troubleshooting
Provide onsite and remote technical support to clients.
Diagnose and resolve hardware software and network-related issues.
Configure and maintain desktop computers laptops printers and peripheral devices.
Perform system upgrades installations and preventative maintenance.
Network Installation & Support
Install configure and troubleshoot routers switches wireless access points and network infrastructure.
Set up and maintain wired and wireless networks.
Perform network testing and ensure optimal connectivity and performance.
Assist with internet connectivity and network security configurations.
CCTV & Security Systems
Install configure and maintain CCTV camera systems.
Conduct site assessments and determine optimal camera placement.
Configure recording devices remote viewing applications and monitoring systems.
Troubleshoot camera cabling and connectivity issues.
Telephone & Communication Systems
Install and configure business telephone systems including VoIP solutions.
Troubleshoot telephone hardware and connectivity issues.
Configure extensions call routing voicemail and related features.
Cabling & Infrastructure
Install and terminate network and telephone cabling.
Test and certify cable installations.
Ensure all installations are neat compliant and properly documented.
Documentation & Reporting
Record service activities installations and maintenance performed on a report which may require pictures of installed equipment/work before and after the shift
Maintain accurate records of equipment and configurations.
Provide clear feedback and recommendations to clients and management.
Minimum Requirements
Education
Certificate Diploma or equivalent qualification in Information Technology Networking Telecommunications or a related field.
Experience
Minimum 23 years experience in IT support networking telecommunications or a similar technical role.
Proven experience installing and supporting CCTV systems.
Proven experience configuring routers and network equipment.
Experience installing and maintaining telephone systems preferably VoIP solutions.
Technical Skills
CCTV installation and troubleshooting.
Router and network device configuration.
Telephone system installation and support.
Network cabling and termination.
TCP/IP networking fundamentals.
Windows operating systems and desktop support.
Wireless networking technologies.
Basic cybersecurity awareness.
Preferred Qualifications
CompTIA A and/or Network certification.
Mikrotik Cisco Ubiquiti or similar networking certifications.
CCTV vendor certifications.
VoIP or PBX system experience.
Must have for Installation
A laptop with internet access and team viewer
Serial/console cable
RJ45 Ethernet cable
Communication on WhatsApp mandatory as we have global support for each task
