Engineer T&D Overhead Transmission Lines

We are seeking an experienced Engineer - T&D Overhead Transmission Lines to support the delivery of overhead transmission line projects worldwide. The successful candidate will contribute to the design analysis and execution of transmission line engineering activities and will work closely with senior technical leadership on complex infrastructure projects supporting the global energy transition.

The role requires solid experience in overhead line design and transmission engineering principles with strong proficiency in PLS-CADD and the ability to independently perform technical studies and develop engineering deliverables.

Key Responsibilities

• Transmission Line Design

         Develop engineering designs for HV/EHV overhead transmission lines.

         Prepare route alignments tower spotting studies and line profile layouts.

         Select conductors earth wires and insulator assemblies.

         Verify electrical clearances and right-of-way requirements.

         Produce and maintain transmission line models using PLS-CADD.

• Engineering Calculations

         Perform and support:

o   Sag-tension calculations.

o   Conductor blowout studies.

o   Clearance assessment.

o   Thermal ampacity evaluations.

o   Basic corona and radio interference studies.

o   Shielding and lightning performance evaluations.

o   Load tree generation and tower loading analysis.

         Engineering analysis is typically performed using PLS-CADD TOWER or PLS-POLE.

• Project Delivery Support

         Prepare drawings calculations reports and design documentation.

         Participate in multidisciplinary project coordination.

         Support technical discussions with clients and project teams.

         Contribute to design reviews and quality assurance processes.

• Construction Support

         Provide engineering support during construction and commissioning phases.

         Assist in resolving technical issues arising during installation activities.

         Support site queries and design clarifications.

Qualifications :

Mandatory Qualifications

Education

Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering.

Experience

         Typically 5 years of experience in overhead transmission line engineering.

         Proven experience working on HV/EHV transmission line projects (110kV 400kV)

         Strong practical knowledge of PLS-CADD

         Experience using TOWER

         Experience preparing transmission line calculations and engineering deliverables.

         High level of written and spoken English.

Preferred Qualifications

         Experience with PLS-POLE

         Experience in underground transmission cable projects

         Familiarity with CYMCAP for cable ampacity analysis

         Experience working on international transmission projects

         Knowledge of IEC IEEE EN and utility-specific standards
