An opportunity exists for an experienced SOFTWARE DEVELOPER & CYBER SECURITY SPECIALIST to join a well-established national organisation operating within the engineering capital equipment and industrial services environment based in Gauteng.
- This role will suit a technically strong professional who is equally comfortable with software development systems integration databases cloud environments and cyber security governance.
- The successful candidate will play a critical role in developing and supporting internal applications while ensuring the integrity availability and security of the companys information systems and digital assets.
Software Development
- Design develop test and maintain internal software applications and systems.
- Develop APIs and interfaces between ERP CRM and operational platforms.
- Support mobile web-based and cloud applications.
- Participate in software architecture and systems improvement initiatives.
- Troubleshoot application performance and software-related issues.
- Maintain technical documentation and change control procedures.
- Assist with automation and business process improvements.
Cyber Security & Infrastructure
- Implement and maintain cyber security policies procedures and best practices.
- Monitor systems for vulnerabilities suspicious activity and cyber threats.
- Conduct security assessments and risk analyses.
- Manage endpoint security firewalls and access controls.
- Support backup disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
- Ensure compliance with data protection and information security standards.
- Investigate and resolve security incidents and breaches.
- Manage user permissions and identity management systems.
Databases & Systems
- Maintain SQL databases and optimise performance.
- Support ERP CRM and third-party systems.
- Ensure system integrations function correctly.
- Monitor server health cloud environments and network performance.
- Assist with reporting dashboards and data analytics initiatives.
Business Support
- Provide technical support to internal stakeholders.
- Work closely with finance operations workshop fleet and management teams.
- Recommend technology improvements and digital transformation initiatives.
- Manage external software vendors and service providers where required.
- Participate in strategic IT projects and future system developments.
- Degree or Diploma in Computer Science Software Engineering Information Technology Cyber Security or related field.
- Minimum 510 years relevant experience in software development and IT systems.
- Strong experience with:

- Experience with cloud technologies (Azure or AWS advantageous).
- Knowledge of:

- Understanding of database administration and reporting tools.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities.
