Our client a respected manufacturing operation based in Durban is seeking an experienced Tool Jig & Die Maker to join their toolroom team and play a critical role in supporting metal press production operations.
Duties & Responsibilities
What Youll Be Doing
- Designing and manufacturing precision press tools dies punches jigs and fixtures
- Interpreting engineering drawings and technical specifications
- Working with CAD software such as Mastercam and/or SolidWorks
- Operating CNC machines wire EDM spark erosion equipment conventional lathes and milling machines
- Modifying repairing and maintaining production tooling to maximise uptime and efficiency
- Troubleshooting tooling-related production challenges
- Selecting appropriate materials and manufacturing methods
- Collaborating closely with engineering and production teams
- Maintaining toolroom standards documentation and safety practices
What Were Looking For
- Trade Certificate in Toolmaking
- Proven experience in press toolmaking and tool maintenance
- Strong CAD proficiency ideally with Mastercam and/or SolidWorks
- Demonstrated experience with CNC machining wire EDM spark erosion and conventional machining
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings accurately
- Exceptional problem-solving and analytical ability
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
