Job Summary
Were looking for a technically strong Application Support Analyst for a permanent vacancy in the Pretoria/Centurion area. The successful candidate will be supporting critical software applications in a fast-paced production environment.
This is not a general IT support role youll be working hands-on with live systems investigating issues at code and database level and helping ensure stability performance and continuous improvement of applications.
Location: Pretoria/Centurion
Salary: R40k R50k pm
What youll need:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science or IT
- Willing to work in the Pretoria/Centurion area (the role will be in-office during probation and then move to hybrid remote thereafter)
- 3 years in application support software support or technical support
- Strong SQL skills for data investigation and fixes (essential)
- Experience with at least one language (Python Bash PowerShell Java or C#) (essential)
- Solid understanding of incident problem and change management (ITSM)
- Experience supporting multi-tier / production systems
Duties:
- Monitor production systems and perform daily health checks
- Investigate and resolve application incidents (1st & 2nd line support)
- Analyse root causes and prevent recurring issues
- Apply minor code fixes scripts and configuration changes in production
- Work closely with developers infrastructure teams and third-party vendors
- Manage and track tickets via Jira Service Management
- Maintain clear documentation runbooks and knowledge articles
