Job Description
Were partnering with an established financial services organisation operating in the automotive mobility ecosystem. The business provides specialist financial products linked to motor vehicles and operates from Edenvale Gauteng. This is a permanent opportunity for a senior developer who wants to stay hands-on in a business-critical software environment working across application development SQL Server APIs integrations support technical design and delivery quality.
Performance Objectives for Year One:
- Stabilise and improve core applications: Maintain and enhance existing applications resolving recurring software and integration issues while improving performance reliability and maintainability.
- Deliver new product features and enhancements: Translate business requirements and technical specifications into scalable features that support operational and customer value.
- Strengthen the SQL Server layer: Write and optimise SQL queries stored procedures triggers indexes and reports that support accurate reporting and high-performing applications.
- Improve API and integration quality: Develop and support web services and REST API integrations with clear documentation robust troubleshooting and practical technical ownership.
- Raise development standards: Participate actively in code reviews testing deployments and technical documentation while mentoring junior developers and improving day-to-day engineering discipline.
- Come up to speed quickly: Learn the current applications technologies and code base fast enough to contribute meaningful technical value early in the role.
