Job Summary

Key Requirements
  • 3 6 years experience in insurance risk surveying loss control or risk assessment.
  • Strong understanding of property fire theft and liability risk exposures.
  • Knowledge of SANS standards fire codes and insurance risk frameworks.
  • Valid drivers licence and willingness to travel extensively for site inspections.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple surveys within deadlines.
  • Strong report-writing and documentation skills.
  • Excellent client-facing and stakeholder engagement abilities.
  • High attention to detail with strong analytical skills.
Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct on-site risk surveys at commercial industrial and retail properties.
  • Assess fire protection systems security measures housekeeping standards and liability risks.
  • Prepare detailed risk assessment reports with practical recommendations.
  • Liaise with underwriters brokers and clients regarding survey findings and risk improvements.
  • Monitor compliance with relevant risk management and safety standards.
  • Manage survey schedules and ensure reports are completed within agreed timelines.
  • Identify potential hazards and recommend risk mitigation strategies.
  • Maintain accurate records and provide ongoing support to underwriting teams.

  • Ongoing professional development within risk management or insurance preferred.
