The successful candidate will play a key role in managing and evolving core infrastructure environments where performance reliability and scalability are critical to business success.
This role is ideal for a hands-on engineer who enjoys working close to the metal solving complex infrastructure and networking challenges and contributing to the continuous improvement of modern platform capabilities. You will work across on-premise/bare-metal systems networking storage virtualization and emerging container orchestration environments.
This is a technical growth-focused role suited to a curious and self-driven individual who takes ownership of problems and enjoys building resilient systems in a fast-moving environment. You will collaborate closely with engineering and data teams to ensure platform stability and performance.

Duties & Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
- Manage maintain and optimize on-premise and bare-metal infrastructure environments
- Support and troubleshoot networking storage virtualization and systems infrastructure
- Contribute to the evolution of Kubernetes and container orchestration capabilities
- Assist with automation monitoring observability and operational tooling
- Troubleshoot complex infrastructure performance and network-related issues
- Work closely with engineering and data teams to improve platform reliability and scalability
- Take ownership of initiatives from concept through to production deployment
- Continuously improve operational processes system resilience and security practices
Required Skills
- Strong Linux systems administration experience
- Solid networking fundamentals including:
- TCP/IP
- Routing and switching
- DNS
- Firewalls
- Load balancing
- Experience with bare-metal and/or on-premise infrastructure environments
- Experience with scripting and automation (e.g. Bash Python or similar)
- Strong problem-solving ability and systems thinking mindset
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of technical challenges
Desirable Skills
- Experience with Kubernetes or other container orchestration platforms
- Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS Azure or GCP)
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code and automation tooling
- Understanding of observability and monitoring stacks (metrics logs tracing)
Qualifications
- Industry-related Degree or Diploma or equivalent practical experience
- 35 years experience in infrastructure systems administration platform engineering or a related technical environment
