Job Summary
A leading client is seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Manager to lead the design execution and delivery of critical mechanical engineering projects with a strong focus on rotating equipment and API 610 standards. This opportunity is ideal for a technically strong professional who combines deep engineering expertise with proven project management capability within the oil & gas petrochemical or power generation sectors.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the mechanical design and engineering of rotating and static equipment for process and power systems.
- Oversee the selection installation testing and maintenance of mechanical systems and pumps in accordance with API 610 and related standards.
- Manage project scope schedules budgets risk and overall project delivery across all phases.
- Prepare and review technical specifications calculations mechanical drawings datasheets and Bills of Materials.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams contractors vendors and clients to ensure project alignment and successful execution.
- Ensure compliance with SACPCMP standards engineering codes quality requirements and HSE regulations.
- Support procurement processes through technical evaluations and vendor reviews.
- Provide technical oversight during construction installation commissioning and troubleshooting activities.
- Conduct audits inspections factory acceptance tests and root cause analysis where required.
- Drive a strong culture of safety engineering excellence reliability and continuous improvement.
Requirements:
- Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering (BEng or BTech).
- SACPCMP Certification (Professional Construction Project Manager or equivalent) is mandatory.
- 510 years experience in mechanical engineering within industrial environments.
- Strong experience with rotating equipment pumps piping systems pressure vessels and fluid mechanics.
- Extensive working knowledge of API 610 and related API standards.
- Experience within oil & gas petrochemical or power generation industries will be advantageous.
- Proficiency in engineering and design software such as AutoCAD Plant 3D SolidWorks ANSYS Caesar II or similar.
- Strong project management leadership and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Excellent analytical problem-solving communication and technical reporting abilities.
- Valid drivers license and willingness to travel to project and vendor sites.
