Our clients based in the Durban South area. Are seeking an experienced HR & Payroll Administrator to join their team

Job Title: HR and Payroll Administrator
Department: Human Resources
Reports To: HR Manager / Finance Manager

Job Purpose
To administer and process payroll and HR functions with a high degree of accuracy and compliance specifically within a manufacturing environment governed by MIBCO requirements. The role requires strong expertise in SAGE 300 People and meticulous attention to detail to ensure error-free payroll processing and compliance with statutory and bargaining council regulations.
Key Responsibilities
  1. Payroll Administration (Core Focus)
  • Process end-to-end payroll on SAGE 300 People with a high level of accuracy
  • Ensure compliance with MIBCO Main Agreement including wages overtime shift allowances and leave provisions
  • Accurately capture and process all payroll inputs (timesheets leave deductions allowances)
  • Reconcile payroll prior to submission to ensure zero or minimal errors
  • Administer statutory deductions (PAYE UIF SDL) and ensure compliance with SARS requirements
  • Process terminations final payments and leave payouts in line with legislation and MIBCO provisions
  • Generate and validate payroll reports for finance and management
  1. HR Administration
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records on HR and payroll systems
  • Administer onboarding and offboarding processes ensuring all documentation is complete
  • Draft employment contracts and HR-related correspondence
  • Monitor attendance absenteeism and leave records in line with MIBCO requirements
  • Support disciplinary and performance management processes
  1. Benefits and Bargaining Council Administration
  • Administer employee benefits (e.g. provident fund medical aid MIBCO-related contributions)
  • Ensure accurate calculation and submission of bargaining council levies and contributions
  • Liaise with external stakeholders (e.g. MIBCO benefit providers) where required


  1. Compliance and Reporting
  • Ensure full compliance with MIBCO Main Agreement BCEA LRA and other applicable legislation
  • Prepare and submit all required statutory and council reports
  • Assist with internal and external audits ensuring all records are accurate and audit-ready
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of payroll and HR information
  1. Employee Support
  • Resolve payroll and HR queries efficiently and accurately
  • Provide clear explanations of payslips deductions and leave balances
  • Maintain a professional and service-oriented approach
Minimum Requirements
Qualifications
  • Diploma or Degree in Human Resources Payroll or related field
Experience (Essential)
  • Minimum 35 years experience in payroll and HR administration
  • Proven experience working with SAGE 300 People
  • Strong working knowledge and practical application of MIBCO Main Agreement
Experience (Advantageous)
  • Experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment
  • Exposure to weekly wages shift work and complex payroll structures
Knowledge
  • In-depth knowledge of South African payroll legislation (SARS UIF SDL)
  • Sound understanding of labour legislation (BCEA LRA)
  • Practical experience with bargaining council compliance and submissions

  • Ability to work under pressure especially during payroll cycles
  • High level of integrity and confidentiality
