AFGRI is thrilled to announce two incredible opportunities for talented and driven graduates to join our Grain Management Department on an exciting 18-month Graduate Programmecommencing 1 February 2027.

This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who are passionate about agriculture commodity markets grain management and commercial decision-making and are looking to build a career in the agricultural sector.

The successful candidates will gain valuable practical exposure to grain management agricultural markets commercial analysis risk management grain logistics and the broader grain value chain.

Minimum Requirements

• Completed NQF Level 7 Bachelors degree inAgricultural EconomicsAgribusiness ManagementAgriculture Economics Finance Risk Management or related commercial or agricultural discipline.
• Strong academic performance particularly in quantitative economic agricultural or financial subjects.
• Computer literacy with practical proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• A valid drivers licence or the ability to obtain one before commencement of the programme

Advantageous

The following will be considered and advantage:

• Exposure to grain production agricultural markets commodity trading grain logistics or silo operations

• Completion of the Agricultural Products Markets Dealers Exam or short-course exposure to

  • JSE agricultural derivatives
  • Futures and options
  • Hedging
  • Price-risk management
• Vacation work internship job shadowing or other practical agricultural experience
• Postgraduate studies in Agricultural Economics Agribusiness Finance or Risk Management
