Job Summary
Key Requirements
- Minimum 5 years experience in a transport logistics or fleet supervisory role
- Proven experience managing Fleet Controllers drivers and transport operations personnel
- Strong knowledge of fleet management systems and transport planning processes
- Experience managing heavy vehicle fleets including Side Tipper and/or PBS vehicles
- Sound understanding of road transport legislation RTMS and safety regulations
- Strong leadership and people management skills
- Ability to analyse operational data and implement performance improvements
- Experience managing maintenance schedules and vehicle compliance requirements
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced operational environment
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise Fleet Controllers drivers and transport support teams
- Manage daily transport operations to ensure efficient fleet utilisation and service delivery
- Oversee route planning scheduling and resource allocation to maximise productivity
- Monitor fleet performance fuel usage vehicle uptime and operational efficiency
- Ensure compliance with transport legislation RTMS standards and company policies
- Coordinate vehicle maintenance inspections servicing and breakdown resolution
- Investigate operational issues and implement corrective actions to improve performance
- Maintain high safety standards and promote a strong compliance culture
- Prepare operational reports fleet performance analyses and management updates
- Manage driver performance attendance training and disciplinary matters where required
- Liaise with internal departments customers and service providers to ensure smooth operations
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance fleet productivity and cost efficiency

Qualifications
- Grade 12 / Matric Certificate
- Diploma or Degree in Logistics Transport Management Operations Management or a related field advantageous
- Minimum 5 years supervisory experience within transport or logistics operations
- Experience managing heavy vehicle fleets essential
- Knowledge of RTMS standards and road transport legislation
- Experience with fleet tracking and transport management systems
- Valid drivers licence advantageous
- Training in fleet management safety or compliance advantageous
- Experience within bulk transport mining freight or logistics environments preferred
- Proven track record of leading teams and improving operational performance
